Period: mid-1800s; early-mid Victorian (before the death of Prince Albert)

Stamps: the band is stamped with full British hallmarks: a crown (denoting the British empire), 22 (denoting 22K gold), sideways anchor (denoting Birmingham, England); J within a cushion/square (denoting 1858 date of creation)

Hallmark: the ring is marked “W.M.&D.C.” — maker unknown 

Materials: 22K gold

Dimensions: approx. 2.3 mm wide across the top; the band stands 1.1 mm tall above the finger
