c. 1890s Late-Victorian Five-Stone Old Mine Cut Diamond Band in Gold and Platinum

Period and details: c. 1890s, late Victorian with seriously chunky diamonds—these things look like muffins

Materials: 14K gold; platinum; diamonds

Dimensions: the piece is approx. 5.95 mm wide across the top at the center (it tapers inwards as it approaches the shoulders); stands 5.45 mm tall above the finger at the center (it tapers downwards as it approaches the shoulders)

Size: 6 3/4 (free sizing)

Diamonds: 1.70 - 2.00 ctw., est.; five Old Mine Cut diamonds ranging approx. G to I color and VS2-SI1 clarity overall (diamonds assessed in their mounting by a GIA GD—weights and grades are approximate; NOTE: these stones are particularly deep and pillowy, as some Old Miners are wont to be, but it makes weight estimates particularly difficult and imprecise)
