Pre-WWI (Dated 1913) 18K Gold and Platinum Five-Stone Band

Period: early 1910s, just before WWI

Inscription: the piece is inscribed with illegible initials, but a legible date of “17-1-13”. The ring is also hand-stamped “12”, which likely denotes a 1912 date of fabrication. 

Materials: 18K gold (a touch warmer and earthier than contemporary 18K yellow); platinum

Dimensions: the band measures 4.55 mm across the top north to south; 17.00 mm across the top east to west; the band stands approx. 4.25 mm tall above the finger

Size: currently just over size 8 (free sizing)

Diamonds: 1.10 - 1.20 ctw., est.; five Old European Cut diamonds with approx. G to J color (reads as H-I overall) and VS2 to I1 clarity (reads as SI1 overall—eye clean): diamonds assessed in their mounting by a GIA GD—weights and grades are approximate and determined as mounting permits
